Dual Boot Strategy:

  Why Do We Dual Boot?

One Point of Contact for Windows and Linux

Why we offer dual boot workstations? Simply out of the convenience and flexibility of having the best of both worlds. At JIJORO, we understand that the business world isn't black and white - it's grey. To be competitive you can't be using just Linux or just Windows. You need the cost-effective solution of having a dual boot workstation that houses both Linux and Windows.

Having a dual boot workstation is a good way for people to ease into Linux, in addition to being a great way for people to retain their old Windows programs. You might be asking, "How do you dual boot your workstations?" Well, after the system has been built, we create a boot partition where GRUB (GRand Unified Bootloader) sits, whereas Windows and Linux are split up. When you power on your system, GRUB allows you to select between a 'linux' and 'dos' partition.

By default we use NTFS, which can be read from Linux, but Linux can not write to it. If people want a data partition, they can request it as FAT32, which can be read/written by Linux and Windows. In addition, customized partitioning is always welcome, as we encourage customer to either call or email in their partitioning requests right after they order.  We install latest updates for Windows and Linux and you get all the drivers for each hardware component, and customers get Windows media (license and CD) as well as Linux CD's so they can reinstall any time. Through this ambitious endeavor we've gained invaluable experience putting Windows and Linux on the same system. As a result, we've dealt with Windows support almost as often as Linux support, with the same patience and understanding for each operating system. We've seen the best of both worlds, and we want to be the ONE company you deal with for all your Linux and Windows support needs.
